UKIPT Bristol

Day 1:

So I have been looking forward to this leg of the tour for a few weeks now and my target for the trip was to secure a few more tournament leader board points I was currently 3rd going into this leg, after bricking all of Newcastle I was really focussed to gain points here. My plan was to play every No Limit Holdem side event (bar the high roller). For this trip I decided to go on the train as it was pretty far way to go and there is usually no need for a car at any of these stops, So me and Joel Beverley (jbeverley) set off from Scarborough around midday Wednesday 7th November hoping to be there in time for dinner before the first side event the £110 6 max. We arrived on time and went for a all u can eat buffet, however this was not a good idea as we all ate too much and not the best idea before your due to start the live poker grind. Anyway  we regged the 6 max at the Gala Casino, my table draw was pretty good had a lot of live and local regs the field looked fairly soft tbh usually the 6 max sides attracts younger players. Cant really remember much about the early stages of the tournament just know that I didn't have any issues chipping up and the table was pretty tight passive (for a 6 max). As we were approaching the money people really started to tighten up one guy 3 bet folds AKs for around 20 bbs (lol). I was hovering around 30 bbs when utg opens (same stack size) I had 66 on the bb and decided to purely set mine as I didnt want to 3 bet fold or call so the flop came 678ss which I decided to lead as my image was pretty laggy and people dint want to believe me much also on that board I don't really want him to check behind that often, so I lead and he flatted the turn brought a nice 6 to give me quads I decided to bet again pretty small this time for value and also to get him to spaz jam his draws and bluffs and also value hands, which is what he did with 1010. So now very close to the money I have a stack weeeeee :) pretty standard stuff from then on hovering around the 30 bbs mark. The Final table was played 7 handed to stop one table from having to play 3 handed. A few orbits have passed and the table in general was playing very conservative until this hand; some old nit guy who was utg decided to open shove for 23 bbs I wake up with QQ and ship it in he has 22 and a window Q sealed his fate my rail loled hard and I was now pretty big chip leader. I managed to get to 4 handed with about half the chips in play when my friend Shane Gregory 3 bets shoves a btn open I have 77 re jam and I loose a flip :( this put me short around the 20 bb mark and didn't recover my busto hand was pretty funny I shove 13 bbs with k6 suited from the button and the small blind (decent player) isolates with around 22 bbs and the bb goes into the tank he has us both covered and of course I cant play a tournament without calling the clock on someone, so I called time and the player folded ako!! both me and the sb were glad as he had a7 same suit as me and a window ace sealed my fate of 4th place and £1,100 and 32.5 tlbs :)

4th in the £110 6 max

Day 2: Main event day 1a

So I decide to reg for day 1a of the main event which looking from the list of names that were playing day 1b it was a good idea. There were still off lots of big names playing that day but luckily I avoided anyone tough on my starting table. This being said the first hand I 4 bet folded ako pre flop! I am pretty convinced the guy had AA or KK as for the next 2 hours he raised maybe once lol. I stayed at the same table for around 3/4 levels then moved to another table lost a few hand then moved again I managed to spin 5k into 30k in one level with a bit of run good and some questionable play from other opponents. There were no interesting hands on this table bar my exit hand where I regret my play totally, at blinds 200/400/50 a pretty bad player opens to 850  UTG +1 I have AKo on the small blind with around 30k (he has me covered) I 3 bet to 2250 he calls with clear signs of weakness (he was clearly a novice from previous table play I have seen) so flop AQx hhh I have no heart so I cbet around 2900 he thinks for a while ( with signs he wanted to raise) the turn brought a heart making me sigh inside I decide to check he then fires out around about 5k with massive nervous tells and he even says "I'll show you if you fold" I kind of knew what he had which is never the K of hearts and he just wanted to try and take the pot down now on the turn and most likely had the J/10 hearts So for some insane reason I decide to pile it all in his face! dont ask me why I hate my line and of course he calls saying "have you got the king of hearts, I have to call I have the J" leaving me drawing dead, I gave this player too much credit for being able to make a tough fold even though I rep so little hand this should have been a fold and I put it down to being tired.
I also played the £110 turbo in which I busted pretty early with no interesting hands.

Day 3:

So today was the £165 knockout Bounty at 9.30pm which brought in around 140 runners these tournaments are always fun as people overrate the bounty and play terrible just to try and bust someone in the early stages of the tournament. This been said after about 4/5 levels I managed to get two KO's when I Isolate with AJo a 13 bb open with one caller who both decide to call and manage to beat AK and JJ with a 4 card flush. This then got me a stack to play with in a pretty weak field with people playing this format terribly, As the bubble began to approach I was gifted with this hand A shirt stack moves all in for around 8 bbs the chip leader on the table moves all in I have around 25bbs and call off with AK and beat A10 and 78s. Rest of the play was pretty standard to the last 2 tables where I was joined by online reg Martin Mulsow (moertelmu) which was fun as we were both trying to take each others bounty and hate life when either one of us shoved the others blind and had to fold!! At least it gave me someone to talk to and have table banter with for a change. We both made the FT and I got what I wanted most his bounty after he shoved 86s utg with 5 bbs and I wake up with 77 and hold gg Martin and thanks for your £50. After this hand I had one big suck out which gave me the chip lead, I shoved KQo for about 6/7 bbs and get two callers AJ and AQ instant and turn service K K. I loled hard when a guy at the table said " I knew you were shoving light" I had 6 bbs in a turbo!! lol. I pretty much sailed the rest of the FT getting to HU as slight CL and winning flips helps as the last hand my KJo beat 77 aip for the title, 40 tlb's and £4,400 with 10 bounties @ £50 each.

3 handed in the £165 KOT

£165 Turbo Bounty win

Day 4:

This was the day of the £330 2 day side event I was going into this pretty confident after winning the knockout the night before and had a good table draw again (I ran pretty well on table draws in Bristol) however there were too decent players on both my left and right which took away a lot of my opens but apart from that there was lots of dead money with one guy who was 7-10x ing his full opening range (he didnt last long). I think my peak in chips in this tournament was around 30k from the initial 10k starting stack in which I had on my exit hand where I 4 bet educed with AQo against my friend Kev Asquith (asquith31) who 5 bet shoved on me with 77 and quads were good. Still think he should of folded as i 4 bet nearly half my stack pre flop and AQo is like the bottom of my range there bar the times I have air there which I don't think is often.

Day 5:

Last day of UKIPT Bristol events and I had kind of wanted to reg the £220 PLO side but didnt manage to get up in time so then it was the last side of the trip the £165 turbo deepstack. This is a very fun tournament with 15k starting chips however not so fun when you get it all in pre with AA against AK and AQ and AK gets there for failry large pot oh well cant win the all.

So a recap of UKIPT Bristol was around £4895 profit from the sides and I managed to gain 82.5 leaderboard points which I think will put me on top now by a fair few points with 3 stops left. I would really like to do something in one of the mains in the next 3 stops and maybe let someone else win the sides :). Looking forward to the next stop which is in Edinburgh in January hope to see some of you there.

Just saw that the UKIPT website have updated the leader board since Bristol and I am currently top by a nice margin!! Tom Hall (Jabracada) close by in 3rd.

October Results

Im a little late entering the results for October so I will keep it short;

As far as online results go I was not particular happy with the volume or results, I played a total of 892 games over all sites and a total profit of $2,307 with the only profitable site being Pokerstars.FR ($5,488) I lost on pokerstars.com again and 888 + party however the volume on them two sites was very low. The biggest score I had was on .fr where I came 5th in the night on stars for €2,221 I also FT the first €30 Monday night on stars 8th for €1,194. On my main site .com the month would have been horrid if it wasn't for winning 5 UKIPT Bristol seats for £770 each I also stone bubble 3x packages and 2/3 seats!!

Live Results:

There were zero live results this month the only live events I played was the French Poker Series leg in Mazagan Morocco. At that event I played the main event €1,100 with no luck after loosing a monster chip lead pot on the last level of day 1 with 66 on 468 against 57 and 78 for about 4x avg stack :( I also played a €220 and a €160 side with no luck. In that €160 side I actually folded a set of sixes to Tim Davie after he shoved the river on me, im still convinced that I was behind on a Q62h 8hAh board I read his soul and knew he had AA (he only showed me one ace). The trip in general was fun and I definitely recommend that resort and will be going there again, its probably the nicest hotel I have stayed in with good internet where we managed to get a good Sunday session in with no problems at all.

September Results

So what did September bring? well this month was obv going to be a big online poker month with the 2 weeks of WCOOP so it was heading to be a huge volume month...... Epic fail on that note my volume was the lowest it has been for months only clocking up 770 games over all sites. I didn't even play much live this month either, the only events I played were the DTD £550 (2 days) and UKIPT Newcastle (5 days). I managed to min cash the DTD £550 for £1k lost a flip AQ<1010 which was pretty frustrating as the field was so soft and had a bigger first prize than UKIPT Newcastle!! Very good tournament though great structure and always gets the fish will try to play this as often as I can.

Me and the devil fish at DTD lol

UKIPT Newcastle didn't go according to plan, I went there in 2nd position on the leader board and was hoping to pick up some points at this stop, this was a fail I made day 2 of the main event but was out in the first hour. As for the sides didn't really get anything  going made a couple of turbo ante levels but no where near the money in any. Since then the updated leader board has me in 3rd place still, pretty good considering I had no cashes next stop is the on-line event and then Bristol in November which I have already won 3 seats too (brag). Before this I am going flag hunting at FPS Morocco to play the 1k main event plus some sides, this should be very soft and might even see the outside world!!

Online Results

So rather than doing the graph for separate sites I will just do the graph for my global alias as there was nothing really exciting on any site that the global graph doesn't point out. But in brief I actually had my biggest online cash ever outright winning the Poker Stars Big $55 for $18,416.51 :) This couldn't come at a better time as I was in a massive hole on that site (Still in it!!) Felt great to actually win with no chop plus I don't thin k that with 25 left that I was not chip leader. I steam rolled the soft FT (obv ran well too). Didnt really have any other success on that site apart from the 3 Bristol seats and a few $1k cashes Total profit from Stars.com $11,904. Poker Stars France I actually lost money on for the first time on mtts my best result came in the first few days of the month coming 2nd in the Minuit Express (again) for €2,107. I did manage to get to Platinum VIP level due to playing 2,500 cash hands on the last day of the month. Total profit -$611.
888 Poker was again a low volume month but managed to win my first mtt on there which was a $16.50 turbo which I won $999.60 I also took 2nd place in a $55 6 max for $667 Total profit $70.56 Think I bricked every $100 mtt I played.
I only played 8 mtts on Party Poker loosing about $290 more volume needed for these euro sites!!!

August Online Results

So after coming back from Belgium on the 5th August it was back to the online grind, I was hoping to have another good month and put some decent volume in, hmmmm.

New site!

I decided to deposit on another poker site and this time I chose 888.com as they have synchronised  breaks and the software is bearable, they also have a pretty decent tournament schedule. So I deposited $600 and started playing some scheduled mtts up to $100's (lol BRM, #takingshots) however this didnt go to plan, my best result was 3rd in a $66 for $600 made a few small ft's and was down about $350 for the month. I am still going to keep grinding this site as it seems to be pretty soft and I like the mtts they run.

Pokerstars.com

So yet again another bad month on Pokerstars.com thats 3 loosing months in a row now which has never happened before...... I think this is mainly because I have been playing a lot higher than normal and not playing 180s as much. Hopefully September will be kind, Total loss -$5,595

Pokerstars.Fr

Pokertars france has been kind for another month I ended up crushing this again and I won the Hot 33 for 2.8k euros, 4th in the night on stars for 2.8k and won a package to the FPS in Morocco next month :) so overall another $10k plus month. Total profit $11,389

Party Poker

My second month on Party Poker I only played 14 games and was down about $300 so nothing much to talk about on that site.

Trip to ESPT San Sebastian and Belgium

So my Small Euro trip started on the 25th July flying from London where I met up with Tim Davie. We were heading to San Sebastian for the Estrellas Spanish Poker Tour to play the main event and some dies there too. We flew from London to biarritz in France which was a hour train to San Sebastian. We managed to get there late in the afternoon and just had a look around. It is a very nice play and was meant to have like 12/13 Michelin stars restaurants more than any other town in the world. But us being degens did not make it to one of them lol. So we just had a wander round the beach and ate at one of the many tapas bars. Then we went out and got pretty drunk hitting bars all around the town... no photos im affraid :(

Day 2

SO we didn't have much to do today as it as the start of the Main in day 1A so another day off for us so we thought we would look around this place a little more, we managed to get to the beach although that is to stand at the edge. We we not dressed for a beach sesh so we just people watched for a few hours ;).
Then the first poker of the trip was a €220 NL turbo this was going to be fun it was a pretty deep structure with everyone trying to play every hand for the first 2/3 level, THen when the turbo skills came up was funny to see how bad people were playing. I made like level 6/7 and a guy jammed cut off for 12 bigs (ish) I got 99 on the btn re jam same stack. I loose my first flip and gg me.
This called for a few more beers........

Day 3

Today we were playing the Main Event €1100 day 1b, I got a great table draw with some really passive players at the table apart from one Deutsch guy who wanted to play every hand (blatant fish). i played pretty solid for the most then we got redrawed after about level 4. I moved upstairs onto a slightly tougher table with Team Poker stars Pro Juan Manuel Pastor, only played a few  orbits here before moving again. This time to a tabel with Anna Marquez not a bad view for once :).
Anna Marquez

I had some info on a few of the players as i actually took Tim Davies seat as he busted shortly before. So with a few tips of him etc the table played fairly solid with a couple of LAGS and a few coolers as well poor Anna ran kk into AA for heaps.
Busto hand!!! so a lag opens UTG+1 and and other lag 3 bets btn im sitting there with 32 bbs and look at AQo it was like a dream.... So i reshipped it in there faces, first raiser insta folds and btn 3 better ask for a count before calling with JJ and a insta service window J meant I was drawing thin and dead on the turn..... gg ME!!

Day 4

Today was the 2 day €330 side event, ok so this was the tournament that I felt I had the best chance of winning or at least getting a Spanish flag at. Good structure and very weak field I think the total runners was 109. The start was very much boring nothing notable won a few small pots and I didnt get a stack going till this hand: I open with KQs from utg+1 some tard flats and a guy who has been tilting and i know he was capable of squeezing light ships it in for about 15 bbs I re jam for around 35 bbs and the flat caller tanks and asks how much and he tank calls with AK lol, the BB had Q9 so I am  in pretty bad shape and the board runs out 4310 rubbish board for me then the turn j made a huge sweat for everyone's hand and then the 9 on the river gave me the buts and a huge chip stack. :) From then on i didn't really loose my stack and went into day 2 as the Chip leader with 21 left.

Day 5

So after making it to day 2 I had to go back at 3pm to continue to a winner. Unfortunately for me that night I had food poisoning and didn't sleep at all or be able to eat anything without it coming straight back out. I was in such a bad place and the last thing I wanted to be doing was playing a live poker game. TBH at the start of the day I was not a huge disadvantage because I actually played some really good fearless poker, especially near the bubble you could obv tell the players who didn't want to not cash. Some were blinding down to 2/3 bbs lol. When the bubble broke (12 paid) The final table started pretty fast after.
I was 3/4th out of 8 going in as there was a double bust on the last two tables. I knew I was the best player at the table and I used a pretty very low variance strategy as these were the types of players who didn't like to fold. So hand by hand people slowly started spazzing out against other people, chips were flying about in crazy situations I would hardly say that there were any big coolers just people playing A10 like the nuts pre and acting amazed when they were running into the top of there calling ranges. I think during the 1 million chips in play there was 3 guys who had about 400-500k and managed to all be out 4th and lower. So we got 4 handed with a pretty solid Finish lad on my right, a Spanish young lad (chipleader at this point) and a older Swedish (very nitty). I got a double up straight away when i get JJ in vs KQ for 50 bbs so im now 2nd in chips. I have the BB with Ad6x and the Swede opens (22bb eff) and get flatter by the CL on the btn, sb folds and I decide to squeeze here as I am pretty sure that the Swede will only get the top of his range in here and then i can snap fold if he shoves. Anyway the CL flats the btn we see a flop 457dd so I know pick up a up and down straight draw with a over. pretty good flop so I c bet around 5/8's pot he calls turn 5x not a great card but at this time im still thinking im good, but i decide to CC the turn so i check and he bets a pretty big bet I think for a min then call. at this moment I am putting in on some diamond draw or floating with complete air. I think boats are not here unless he has 45s as i have seen him 3 bet pre with pairs before. The river brought the 10h which should be a complete blank. I check and he decides to ship it all in!!!! I have like 28 bbs behind me and with the two other players still in one has less that this and the other about the same!!! I had a massive ICM decision due to the payout structure, I tanked for about 2/3 mins before making a very quiet call....... villian tables 89dd and my read was right and with that call I bagged over 750 chips with 1 mill in play. Took me about 10 hands to finsih the tournament knocking them out one by one. The final hand was JJ vs A6o all in pre I held felt good.. Many thanks to my rail :)

Chiiiipssssssssssssss

I won €10,700 for first, it is now my second live win this year and my biggest live cash ever!!

Belgium To be added later

July Online Results

So June ended up being a pretty solid month mainly to the fact of pokerstars,fr which I made over avg ($5,245) profit for. I was hoping for a similar turnaround in May, with also a small Euro trip planned at the end of the month. I also managed to maintain Supernova status on .com and Platinum on .fr.

Pokerstars.com

So it was back to the online grind for July which as you can see from below a massive fail in terms of result's from Poker Stars.Com. I think I only had one noteable cash the whole month winning a $35 180 man sng for $1.7k (volume was pretty poor).

Pokerstars.Fr

However on Pokerstars.FR it was a different story!! and a great month in fact on there once again!! I won the Fifty - XV for €1.4k and a week later i took down the Night on Stars for  €6,300, I also took second in the Need For Speed Turbo for €2.240 and final table the Big 5r.

Party Poker

It was also my first month on Party Poker I decide to start multi citing and result werent too bad for the first month of PP the volume was pretty poor tbh I have been adjusting to the software and good value tourny schedules. I did not manage to win a mtt this month but I got two runner ups in a $5.50t for $227 and $30t for $830 both nice little roll boosters as I only deposited $200 I think.

Also I would like to post (brag) about winning the Night on stars which is actually my second biggest online Cash!! I think I have the chip lead from about 17 players left and did not loose it once. Very straight forward and exploitable players left & managed to work up a deal on chip count (which>ICM) and i pretty much took first place. Was a nice day :)

Run good on .fr continues!!

Just though I would brag about winning the Fifty - XV for €1.4k :)

Had a very soft final table apart from having rumad?1337 (Martin, moertelmu)  on my left once I took him out was pretty much game over. :)

I have also just started playing on Party Poker hopefully I can have some new site run good on there, currently getting soul crushed on stars.com :(

June Results

June Results!

Ok so after having a great month in May I was in a good place with poker. In the first week in June I went to play the Eureka Poker Tour leg in Bulgaria Eureka tour info here
I went there with Timmmy182 (Tim Davie) and we stayed in a nice 5 star hotel as I won a package for the Main event and hotel. We had a good feeling about this poker tour as it was the start of the work series and we were in Bulgaria (lol). Although poker wise it was a bit disappointing as none of us even cashed!! I made day 2 short in chips (15 bbs ish) and busted like the 2nd hand of day 2. But fortunately the weather was great and so was the night-life apart from the fact it was sworming with Germans!!!

Online poker on Poker stars.com was pretty bad I think I won about $200 for the whole month wasnt playing great and also the volume was a bit of a fail..... However this was not actually bad, as I finally decided to deposit on Pokerstars.fr. So originally I was just going to deposit a small amount and grind only the value mtts on a night. I then decided that all the mtts on there are value mtts due to how soft that site is!! I managed to turn 400 euro s into over 4,000 with only a very small amount of volume. I obv ran good as well and one night I won 2 of the turbo mtts :)

So overall June was a pretty good moth definitely saved by the run good on .fr
I have two Live trips planned for June first of all the Estrellas San Sebastian on the 26th July then off to Belgium for the Belgium poker series.

Oh and on another note..... After my main event run at UKIPT Dublin and 5th place finish in the 150 bounty I have managed to be 2nd on the overall UKIPT player of the year leader board after 3 legs.... So I have some added motivation to grind as many sides at the rest of the stops of this tour. Those who didn't know but this season they added the side events to count towards the leader board whereas previous years it was only the main events. They have some good prizes to the top 3 at the end of the season with the winner receiving  buy-ins and hotel for season 4!!

The Next stop is in Newcastle in September which I have already won 2 seats too :)

Ok so after not having a good April, the poker gods decided to make me run like a god and have the best month I have ever had!! Some notable results for the month are First place in the Hot $55 turbo for $14k 5th in the $3r 2xt for $1.4k and winning the $5 cubed for $2k all in the space of 24 hours!!. I also won a $35 180 and a few 3rs and 8's, plus a Eureka Package for June. I had a decent run in the $215 SCOOP 4 max finishing 13th for $3k and also a few other cashes in SCOOP events.

April Online Results

Massive Fail!!

The first 3 days of April were really good profiting about $4k in 3 days then I set off to play my live events. So after live proing for 2 weeks I got back to the online grind and hit a pretty frustrating down swing, the only decent score I had was winning a Bulgaria main event Seat for 1.1k euro's.
I realised that I probably wasn't playing my best due to bad game selection and schedule playing some bad value mtts as well as not enough 180s which help reduce variance massively.

April was one of my worst ever months I think my first loosing month with this much volume (not including FPPs)!! Lets hope for a better May I have two Live trips planned in May the first being UKIPT Dublin and then Eureka Poker Tour Bulgaria the first week of June.

April Live Trip Part 2

UKIPT Nottingham

Next Stop was UKIPT Nottinham, we went straight from Belgium to Nottingham we were staying in the Poker stars Hotel in the City Centre which was a decent hotel (ty stars). I had a decent live schedule that I wanted to play here;

Nottingham planned Schedule:

12th Main Event day 1b £770
14th NL Holdem £330
15th NL Turbo deepstack £168
16th NL 6 Max £112

So it came to day 1b I got sat down on my table at Dusk till Dawn poker club which was incredibly busy as they smashed the £1 million gtd they ended up getting 1,625 runners!! making the first prize to be £210,400 WD stars and Duck till Dawn... As for my table draw I thought it was pretty decent didn't last long enough to be able to make solid reads but there was one obvious good Scottish lad who I later met called Robbie Bull (adreny) on my table and maybe 1/2 who were pretty solid but nitty.... I lost several big pots where in one case  I made a very well disguised trips on the river and I led the river and some random Eastern European guy 4x my river bet, there were a couple of missed flush and straight draws (even though the board was paired) I tank called and he had the nuts (obv) tens full... A couple of orbits after that I open QQ with aprox 30 bbs and get 3 bet from the btn so I 4 bet called off and lost to AK.. gg my main event in the second level.

The next day I regged the £330 side which was really good value, my starting table was not great though as I had one of my mates on my direct left Ashton Clayton (wd on your main cash bro) there was also Kev Asquith  (Asquith31) and later on Robbie Bull appeared on my direct right... I managed to get a stack going staying above avg most of the tournament and made day 2 with around avg. Joel Beverley Ashton Clayton and Callum Stewart also made day 2 where we also had a bet to see who could get the biggest stack going into day 2 which Calum won. However we were all to be short lived with me lasting the longest finishing 2/3 off the money running AKs into a set of fives where I think I priced myself into calling off on a Q high flop.
After Tilting from bubbling the £330 we went for a Nando's and all regged the £168 turbo deepstack This field was total lolaments had a very soft starting table crushing like I do in turbo s. In this mtt there was £6,700 up top and 17 paid, me and Callum both made the money but by this point the avg stack was something like 6/7 bbs and we finished 12th and 13th respectively for £450, would of been nice to make back to back turbo FT's at UKIPT side events with this cash im currently 22nd on the UKIPT leader board.

Next event was the £112 6 Max The field for this event was pretty small as It was a Monday and most people had left Nottingham, It was alongside the FT of the Main Event where one of my mates was sitting in good position so I was also railing Nick Woodward and hoping he was going to take down the Main...
So my table for the 6 max was pretty tough imo as I had Tom Hall (jabracade) on my right and another Canadian reg on my left... this was short lived as I picked up AK and 4 bet called and lost to QQ Second level again... Also in this event was Joel Beverley (jbeverley) who was looking like he was going to have his first live cash all to end in disaster as his top pair could not hold against a flush draw he was to bust 2 off the money gg Joel...
Meanwhile Nick had just busted in 6th place loosing a huge flip with JJ<AQo  for £45,500 well done Nick on that huge score!! The pokerstars were upset when he busted as he had about 80% of the rail rooting for him....

April Review

April Live Trip Part 1

Spring Holdem Challenge in Belgium

Ok so I had a busy April for live events, First stop was The Spring Holdem Challenge in Belgium where I was playing the Main Event and some sides. I set off on the 6th April this trip I went on my own and was meeting Tim Davie (timmmy182) at the Aiport in Belgium. All was going well till I landed in the Airport and rang time and we both said we were waiting outside the arrivals gate...... With no sign of tim we realised that we were both at different airports :) Woooopss. So after a few hours travel etc we eventually met up in Brusscles where we had a short walk around and ended  up in the pub. A few pics of Brussels;

After a look around we headed off to Namur where we were staying in the Casino Hotel, we arrived that night and played some 1/2 cash games this is when we realised how soft it was going to be in Belgium everyone was just so passive and easily exploitable me and Tim were sat at the same table and pretty much cleared up.... I was up around 3 buy ins after maybe 3 hours play.
The next day we were playing the 1k Main event, This had a pretty good structure with a 25k starting stack and 45 minute clock (for the first day) I managed to double my stack in the first hour and halr and the moved table. The second half of the day was pretty slow not much happened till the last hour of the day, I lost JJ<a9 for a pretty big pot and had to grind the short stack for the last half hour. We both made day 2 I was set to start with around 13 bbs and Tim was above avg stack.
Day 2: First hand I picked up AKo and  3 bet shoved a mid position open I got re shipped on from the BB who had 1010 that was GG for me.So the rest of the day I spent playing Cash and I regged the 330 side event which again was super soft, Couldnt get much going and busted 99<AQo for around 50bb pot 4 hours in...
Later on into day 2 Tim was still nursing a decent stack so I railed him, After being at his table for only a few minutes I saw him make a sick call much to the disgust of the villian and his rail birds.... Tim was sat on the BB and the btn/cut off opened (std 2.2 ish raise) Tim flats, flop K74ss checks round turn 10s Tim leads villian calls river Q Tim checks and villians fires 3/4 pot tim tank calls and tables A9o villian mucks with a disgusting look... Tim was pretty much owning the table after that. He managed to Make the FT coming in 3/9 playing for 48k, he lost a pretty big flip early on for like half the chips in play JJ<AQ and a few players busted he got to 4 handed and had Q9 on a 1078 J J board he reluctantly called a all in shove on the river where the guy tabled J8 and Tim finishes 4th for 15k wp Tim not bad for his first ever live cash.

February Overview

Volume Fail!!

So its the end of Feb and it was a big fail for the online grind this month, mainly due to having a week holiday in France snowboarding and a week at UKIPT Galway. I did not play online once during these two weeks. I also having the slight problem of a broken wrist which stopped me from playing for long hours and reduced the table volume.
Results wise from what I did play was pretty good I won a local £50 freezeout tournament for £500 (small field obv) and online I won just short of $2k but with the lowest volume I think I have played for 3 years so winning $2k is pretty good I guess. I managed to book my UKIPT Nottingham seat which is in April and is expecting at least 1200 runner from what I hear. Obv I ran well in Galway winning the 110 euro turbo side event for 4,600 :) bricked all the other events there though.

Feb online results:

Total Games: 241
Total Profit: $1,942
Total Hours: 32
Avg Hourly: $60.68
Total VPPs: 1294.27
Total FPPs: 4529.95

I still have a cask on my wrist for another 3 weeks which will slow the volume down for March, but hopefully I can play enough to get 6500 vpps so I can maintain my supernova status as I used my gap month in Feb.
As for live mtts in March I have none planned but if I can qualify for Estrellas Valencia I will go there, going to focus mainly online this month as April I have a few live events planned UKIPT Nottingham and one leg of the Belgium series a week before Nott.

Gl in March!!!!

UKIPT Galway Trip Report

  UKIPT Season 3 Galway
So after my week away breaking bones in France I had 3 day at home with very little grinding and prepared myself for a week of been a live pro. It was the first leg of the fast growing UKIPT Galway, I managed to win a seat for the main event (€770) with 5 nights hotel at the Raddison Hotel which was where the tournament was held, as well as expenses to covers flights etc.
It was Valentines day when I left my home to travel to Middlesborough to meet up with two lads that were also going to Galway Sam (snowmanshan) and Stevey (steveisgod) we decided to go for a curry in a local restaurant which was jokes as it was obv valentines day. Our flight was early in the morning from Newcastle and we then met up with Tim  Davie (timmmy182) at the airport, we also randomly bumped into Nottingham Season 2 champion Gareth Walker (crushpush) who was renting a car and kindly let us catch a ride with him.

Galway planned Schedule

15th 18:00 1 NL – Holdem 6 Max €100 + €10
     12:00 3 Main Event Day 1A €700 + €70
16th 20:00 5 NL - Holdem Turbo €100 + €10
17th 16:00 6 NL – Holdem Turbo €50 + €5
19:00 7 NL – Holdem Turbo Bounty €100 + €50 + €10
18:00 8 NL - Holdem – Day 1 €300 + €30
18th 21:00 9 NL - Holdem - Turbo €100 + €10
19th 14:00 10 NL – Holdem – Charity Event €100 + €10 + €20
17:00 11 NL - Holdem – Turbo Deepstack €150 + €15

The first night we got there I played the €110 6 max, had a pretty soft table but didnt manage to get a stack going and lost most of my chips on a double barrel bluff where the villian ended up shoving the river for like 400 chips into 5k but  had to fold..... sighhhhhhh busted shortly after that. Ended up going out drinking round Galway with plenty of bosses which I have just met or known online for ages, took it relatively steady as i was playing day 1a of the main the next day at 12pm!!! so not too many jagers for me.

Second day

So with a slight hangover and a bit of a rush to make breakfast I got sat down at my table fairly comfortable and with a plan to just nit it up for a level or  two and get a feel of the table. It was actually a pretty tough table with 3 internet young lads sat in a row next to each other who were opening a lot. I didnt get up to much at this table apart from a cold 4 bet with q7s vs two lags but i got 5 bet so i tank folded like a boss... lol. I moved table after a hour or so to a awesome table it was sooooo soft and managed to spin up a stack in no time with some light 3 bets and playing post flop pretty well. Unfortunately a German lad who i met on the trip called Marco sat down 2 two my left, we had a few battles and one notable btn vs my bb where I 5 bet with 56cc on a 3c7x9c flop he folded... A few orbits after I coolered him with AA>QQ aip gg Marco...
I managed to get my stack up to around 60k which was oe of the top stacks in the room at the time, but in the last level i lost two 35k pots calling down with btn pair on the river where my read was correct but the guy rivered an ace on his missed fd and bet for value :( then i ran top straight into turned boat vs a bet sizing donk. Doubled with KK>1010 last 20 mins of the day to end with 31,200.

 Josh Hart crushing Main (lnormajean)

Bink!!!

After end of play for the day 1a I decided to later reg the €110 turbo after a 20 min dinner break, this had a 8k starting stack and I came in a 100/200 level so 40 bbs. My table had UKIPT champions Zoeri Zandvliet and Sam Razavi luckily it had some older Irish locals there and some people who were drinking. Managed to grind away playing std turbo strategy (live turbos lol). In no time I ended up getting pretty deep and just started to crush there was 166 runners and 20 got paid, everyone wanted to do a bubble deal but I said no at first but after several people sighing etc and I was pretty avg/short at the time I said ok. Players quickly flew out and I came into the ft 3/9 with 160k (16bbs). The payout structure was pretty top heavy paying €4.6k up top €2.5k 2nd and around €300 for 9th, so me been a 180 reg was obv playing not to ladder but to win. The players were playing so tight with literally nobody opening (apart from open shoving) so I used the raise fold/call and quite quickly got to 4 handed (I did not face one aip showdown at risk). Was super Easy 4 handed 3 handed and HU, my winning hand was 1010>a9o where I 3 bet shoved and got called pre board ran something like K93710 wp me and thanks to my drunken rail seen as though it was about 4am thanks guys!!!!
It was also my first tournament win to go onto my Hendon Mob Database :)

My stack at the start of the FT

Third day

After the success of the previous day I though no way can my live run good continue...... I regged the €55 turbo slightly late because of alternates to bust out my first hand AKs<QQ all in pre lol..... I am never folding AKs for 40 bigs in a turbo :)
I then regged the €160 turbo knockout which I unfortunately sat next to Tim Davie (timmmy182) but at least I had someone to talk to plus I was on his left so I got chance to pwn him hard K9>KJ imo..... I let him spew off his chips hard vs a donk bet from a live fish gg tim... I lost a couple of pots got one bounty moved tables and Jammed 11 bbs with KQs utg+1 and get snap re jammed by a old Irish guy directly to my left gg me KQ<AQ.
Fourth day
This was day 2 of the main event where I started with 31,200 @ 400/800 level so around 40 bbs I was lucky enough to start at a pretty soft table, but it was also one of the first to break I was sat there for a bout a hour and half and maged to grind up to around 60k and on the very last hand I lost a big pot in a 3 bet pot 3 where I value bluffed the river with air and the guy tank called me with second pair. So i moved to another table with around 25k and had to play short stack strategy for around 3 hours had a couple of double ups and busted about 30 off the money after jamming 14 bbs on the cut off and get called by AQs gg main event.

So after busting the main event I decided to play the €330 side event as the value for it looked worth while I think it got around 220 ish runners with a pretty soft field as the high roller was running along side as well as people still in the main. I somehow managed to be on the same table as Tim Davie again (dam dont reg at the same time as your mates!!!) I didnt get anything going in this mtt picked up AK three times and bricked every flop, think I only won one hand all mtt. I ended up squeezing a multi way pot with KK and get called by AQ...... all I can say is a book by Barry Greenstein so that was GG me and also the last tournament I played in Galway, I decided not to late reg the €110 turbo due to a heavy night drinking with loads of decent lads which I am sure I will see you all about again somewhere maybe  UKIPT Nottingham?????

Fifth day

I totally wrote this day off to do anything due to a huge hangover from the mental night before, so I did not play the €130 charity event or the €165 turbo deepstack which I was actually looking forward to but I did not feel like I could play my A game...

Profit from the trip?

Tournament buy ins total 5 sides (not including the main of €770) = €765
Total tournament cashes inc knockouts                                       = €4,650

Total Profit from sides =  €3885

So overall a very good trip for me and my investors and well done to all the lads who had deep runs Tom Hall (Jabracada) who got 11th in the main, Nick Farnborough (zepher) for making the €55 turbo FT, Marco Drfhn for making the €160 TKO FT and  Tim Davie for bubbling the €330 and nearly booking his first live cash!! Plus was great to chill with a load of bosses, degens and decent lads from all parts of the world hope to see you all very soon........

Chiiiiiiipssssssssssssssssssssssssss

Feb so far...

Ok so we are now in Feb I have not played much poker as I have been on holiday snowboarding in France

Me on the left

As I was in France I could not play on poker stars so it was a solid weeks break from poker for the first time since I started playing full time I think...
All was going well till the 5th day of the holiday and we all ventured to the top of the mountain on the first run of the day, I hit some ice  and went arse over tit and landed full force on my right hand resulting in a fractured wrist....

So this ended up been gg boarding for the last 2 days and me sat doing pretty much nothing for the rest of the hol.... As a online poker player this could quite possibly be one of the most tilting injuries to have (as i am right handed also). I have to keep the cask on for 6 weeks apparently. Im finding it hard to use the mouse so I am learning to use my left arm with the mouse....

I have got 3 days at home till I then go to UKIPT Galway where I am playing the main event and a selection of the side events Galway details here I will be updating via twitter and facebook
